What means being accepted ?

Dernière mise à jour : 15 avr. 2020

Nowadays, to love yourself is to feel loved first.

In a world, where appearance seems to be the most important thing, building your own personality can get complicated for some people.

Self-discovery, who we really are, is a difficult and strewn passage. Being accepted by the other seems to be the main element for accepting oneself as a unique person. It is the eyes of others that show us the way.

But then, how is this identity, this personality built if it is influenced by others?

We are influenced by many people from an early age. First of all, our family plays a crucial role in this emancipation then comes the friends that we meet in kindergarten then in primary and that until the end of our studies. If you think this influence ends here, this is unfortunately not the case. She continues at work or at home with her spouse. To feel accepted comes first of all from the appearance we give to people who don't know us. This appearance is reflected in the clothes, the shoes, the face and its expression in short what represents you. It is important to appropriate your clothes because they represent you indirectly. Certainly, when we are small it is not the first thing that we look at, but it is while growing up that this gaze focused on the other becomes stronger and intensifies more and more. It is at this precise moment that the child understands it and manages to distinguish what can potentially please or not. At this age, children are mean and unpleasant to each other, they look at each other, they discover themselves and try to accept themselves. Categories are created and some are led to belong to a group, feeling stronger and more protected. They can use this force to destroy those who do not accept themselves. This period of our lives may have been simple for some as it may have been a nightmare for others. This is why it is important to talk about it around us in order to be helped because if nothing is done, this fear of judgment, of this shame will pursue us at every stage of our life. It will remain attached to us as tiny as possible and demean you without warning.
